The first A. sp. "Segelflossen" was probably exported from Venezuela as early as 1977,
and mentioned by SCHMETTKAMP (1978a, 1979).

This one, from the Río Muco drainage in Colombia, was found so far from where the Venezuelan forms were found that it is uncertain whether it is the same species. It is therefore given a "cf." in the name.
