My Experience

A peaceful species, at least in my tanks. No problem having several males and females in a 135 liters tank (footprint 75 x 50 cm) (if provided with lots of structure/territory dividers like plants and wood) even when some of them breed.

Breeding

Clean, soft, acid water, fine sand with brown, dead leaves of beek or oak on the ground, a lot of wood and some plants, and no bigger or aggressive fish in the tank; they will breed and show wonderful colors. I let the fry grow up in the same tank, with all the oher fish.
