I collected this species in the wild in 2007, in a small pond in Picuruyacu, Loreto, Peru.

My Experience

Surprisingly peaceful

A group of 8 fish live happily together in a 160 liter tank without major aggressions.

Eat whatever I give them, also BBS

 

Breeding

Very easy to breed.

In my group of 4 males and 4 females in a 160 liter tank, most of the time at least one of the females has fry.

pH: 5,3     Conductivity: 50 µSiemens/cm    T: 25-27 °C
